Kitchen Remodels

by | Apr 10, 2025 | Kitchen

When you look at your kitchen and don’t like what you see, you have a problem. Finding a solution to that problem (your new kitchen) comes with a whole list of problems. The biggest problem you will face is finding honest, fair, hardworking, skilled and knowledgeable people to solve your problem.

Unfortunately, what most people find is general contractors and interior designers not trying to solve your problem. They are trying to solve their own problem. How to charge the most and do the least. Very few general contractors these days own tools let alone know how to use them. They got their general contractors license to make money easy selling homeowners cheap material and labor when they won’t lift a finger other than cashing checks. Most interior designers don’t have an education in interior design yet charge large sums of money to tell you what you like. Their greatest skill is telling you what you want to hear to get you to sign the dotted line so they can kick back while cheap labor and cheap material finds its way into your home while you pay top dollar. Your hard-earned money most likely will go to the general contractor and or interior designer. When problems arise, they will not take responsibility but blame the subcontractors they hired.

What you want to find is problem solvers. Licensed, insured and bonded contractors with years of experience in the trades that know how to build, finish, repair and install whatever your kitchen requires. Not Real Estate Agents with a General contractor’s license, not a general contractor that hasn’t built or installed or repaired everything your kitchen needs, not an interior designer that took a class online and has an LLC charging $100 an hour. You can design your kitchen with an app on your phone.

Please do your research when hiring contractors and or interior designers. Beware of sales tactics and 100 5-star reviews. Those can be bought. Meet with them, talk to them. Ask them questions about their skills and knowledge. Do not be afraid to ask uncomfortable questions. Salesman disguised as contractors or designers will not solve your problem, just create them.
